Looking at car rental agreements

one of the mistakes that people make when they are looking to hire a car in Spain is not to look at the rental agreement closely enough. This decides things such as what happens if you arrive back late with the car, what happens if you damage the car and various other factors that may affect you. you should always read this closely before you choose a rental company, otherwise you may be in for a nasty surprise once you get the car back.

It is also always a good idea to get at least some form of insurance when you rent a car in a different country. Getting the full cover is probably the best way to go because then you know that you are covered and can relax it even if something goes wrong with the car.
